| You may be wondering why I havent included UK in Europe. Well I feel UK isnt quite like the rest of Europe! In fact even within UK the Scots hate the English even now! (Dont know about Wales). The Sterling pound is different from the Euro, their language is different (Europe stands united despite so many languages!) and well I ate too much potato in the UK.
Haggis :: Its supposedly a delicacy and very popular but guess what, its specially prepared intestines of pig so I stayed away from it....! England and Scotland (Havent been to Wales, but Cardiff and
and a few smaller towns in northern Wales are the only places supposed
to be good)
You are in UK, but Scotland and England are quite apart! Scotland has its own serene beauty which is spoilt only by Glasgow which brings you to the 'bad' city life in the simple and calm life of Scotland. Not that city life is bad, just that after sometime in the clean air with few people around and sleeping in castles the urban rush is overwhelming. England used to have an empire where the sun never set so its still charming with old places and cobbled roads (except) London where I found excellent nite life!, huge shopping malls and ofcourse the crown jewels. Banking: Within the UK I found the Switch/Solo card extremely
useful and using any bank's ATM is free! (more $$$)
Oh and somehow Bank of Scotland notes are not respected in England,
also few accept a £50 note. So before I end up writing a guide, detour! Scotland
Scotland has its own beauty and charm, castles, glens, lochs -
and monsters in them, Jackobite tales of bravery, William Wallace
the hero and the Redcoat enemies, and well the first few days the
accent is real difficult to understand! I would recommend it as
the best place for natural beauty.
These aside there are plenty of more places - I'd recommend avoiding Glasgow, I had taken a Haggis tour for a major part (there are many rival companies) and it was a great trip! You may want to drive by yourself but there are plenty of hidden and unknown places known only to these companies and well many roads there is only a single lane for you and the oncoming traffic so not much traffic but difficult and slow driving. England
The first place that'll come to mind is London! It is indeed huge
and graffiti adorns most of it. I have spent many a weekends along
the crowded streets and amazing places around Liecester Sq and China
Town. But its not all London, there are numerous special towns each
with its own history and ofcourse Nottingham and Robin Hood where
I spent most of my time.
Wales and Northern Ireland
